Psychiatrist: They have a MBBS medical degree like any other doctor, along with a post graduate degree in psychiatry. Psychiatrists are licensed to prescribe medicines, along with giving talk therapy.
Counsellor: They have a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling or a related field. A counselor can only diagnose and treat mental disorders but cannot prescribe any medication. They provide counselling and talk therapy, often in collaboration with psychiatrists.
Psychologist: They typically have a Bachelor’s & Master’s in Psychology and an MPhil in Clinical Psychology. Licensed psychologists deliver psychotherapy, administer diagnostic tests and provide treatment. Psychologists don't have the license to prescribe medicines.
